Children’s Art Week activities for schools

Discover a huge array of fun, engaging activities for Children’s Art Week here at Busy Things! Primary kids will simply love our creative exercises, drawing games, and art projects. Why not print out their work to make some colourful classroom displays?

Start by loading a template or an existing file that you have worked on before. There are painting templates and writing templates.

Pieces of work you create are saved in the 'My files' area of the setup you are using.

Picture tools appear on the right (pens and brushes, stamps and stickers).
Colours, patterns and gradients appear in the bottom left and along the bottom.
General tools (save, load, print, change template, clear, undo and zoom) appear in the top left.
To type in a text box click in it and the text formatting tools will appear.

Choose from a wide selection of eyes, noses, mouths, and hair styles to make a funny face!

Key points:

  • Can you make a self-portrait?
  • Can you make someone in your family?
  • Can you describe the features on your face?

Touch to choose a colour from the bottom of the screen and then touch to fill the picture section by section.

Touch the picture button in the bottom left to move through all the pictures available.

Seven scenes for children to colour and print from our Colouring Book game. Includes a space for children to write their name.

Crazy characters icon

Crazy characters

Choose from 25 crazy characters from our Body Boggle game to print out and colour in.

Choose a minibeast and colour it in. Try out all the different colours, textures and stamps.

Notice how all your marks are symmetrical!

Key points:

  • What kind of minibeast have you made?
  • How many legs does your minibeast have?
  • How many wings does it have?
  • What does your minibeast like to eat?
  • Where does it like to live?

 

Complete the animal icon

Complete the animal

Print out the eleven different animal bodies from our Animal Muddle game. Draw in the legs, heads and tails to complete the animal.

Pretty Things: Wonder wheel

Touch or click and hold down the mouse on the spinning canvas. Drag the slider up and down and touch the rotation type button to experiment with the different effects. Touch the buttons in the top left to save, load and print your images.

You can use this activity with the other Pretty Things activities for even more amazing results! In the left-hand margin are other works you have made during the session. Touch one to open it in the canvas area and work on top of it. NOTE: These will not be saved automatically when you finish your session on Busy Things.

Touch the pattern you want to work with before you begin. Experiment with layering and combining different marks. Touch the buttons in the top left to save, load and print your images.
