Advanced letter box
Listen to the phoneme (sound) coming from the box.
Look at the graphemes (letters) on Cat’s boards. Select the one that can make that sound. You can click/tap the box to hear the phoneme again.
Use the 'Alternative grapheme settings' button to choose the graphemes that appear. There are vowel and consonant grapheme-phoneme-correspondences to choose from.
Teaching tips:
Use this advanced version of ‘Letter box’ to support children to identify the correct alternative grapheme to fit the phoneme being spoken.
Try ‘Advanced sound bites’ for further practice in using alternative graphemes correctly in words.
