Egyptian gods and goddesses - Advanced
Write about an Egyptian god or goddess by reading the guidance and filling in the fact file. Why not use the annotation labels to embellish the picture?
Alternatively, choose one of the group templates to write about a selection of gods and goddesses.
Discussion points
- If you could create a god or goddess, what would he or she look like? What would they be a god or goddess of?
- Which god or goddess do you think you would have worshipped? Why?
Teaching tips:
The ancient Egyptians believed in a whole pantheon of gods and goddesses. The things that were important in their culture were each governed by a different deity. The gods and goddesses could be depicted in a human form - often with an animal head - or as an animal. The gods' identities were quite fluid and over the centuries their roles and appearances changed and they even combined with one another!
Use this alongside ‘Gods and goddesses of the Egyptian Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom or New Kingdom’ labelling activities by matching the name to their description.
