Discussion points
- Georges Seurat (pronounced “Zh-or-zh Ser-rah”) is famous for developing the technique known as ‘pointillism’ where things are painted through combining lots of little coloured dots (‘point’ means dot in French).
- He was French and lived between 1859 and 1891.
- The Post-Impressionists took the techniques of Impressionism further. They kept the visible brush marks but didn’t use realistic colours and were not concerned with capturing the effects of light.
