Adventure Tutorial 3
Tutorial 3 introduces some additional new programming concepts into Beard Man's Adventures. Children will learn to make Beard Man adapt to changing conditions inside the chambers. They will learn how to make sure Beard Man doesn't try to do something he can't, like pick up a gem when there isn't one.
Discussion points
- Keep Beard Man walking forward until a condition (e.g.standing by a door) is true.
- After every 'Walk forward' have Beard Man check for a condition using the 'If' block (e.g. If standing on a "turn left" sign then....)
- For longer programs, the speed-up button can be used to save time.
- A new type of 'Repeat' block is introduced in this section. The 'Repeat until' block keeps repeating the blocks contained inside until the condition (e.g Standing by a ladder) is met.
